For my last class at the 3rd level of Altenew educator certification program I choose A touch of texture class.
I love how we can add on a different way texture to the cards, and how we can use some staff different way.
For this class I made two cards, plan was three, but Sizzix machine started to play with me and looks like it dies...
For the first card I played with the wooden background. I love wood. Sadly never found so thick wood I could use dies with it. So I took paper and stamp the wood pattern on it and then blend it with Milk Chocolate ink from Delectable Delights ink set. Then I took some beige paper and punch nice florals lace. Then I was debating on use roses again, red roses would go very very nice with ti. Or to use nice innocent daisies. And in the end I decided for daisies from Altenew's Spring Daisy stamp set.
I stamp them on a paper with light gray color and then use Blush color for color petals. For the leafs I use the darkest green Hunter Green for outline and Just green from filling form Green Meadows ink set. When I had all stamped I cut it out. Then I glue the beige stripe in the middle of the card and put flowers down to see where I can stamp the sentiment. I stamped sentiment birthday wishes from Birthday Greetings stamp set in brown color. Then I glue flowers on with foam for more dimension. And the first card was finished.
For my second card I use the technique I learned a while a go. I like it because this is one way how to use dies on different way. I just don't like that sometimes it's seen a little for the color.
So I turned the die Mandala that way that blades looks up, then goes lightly with ink pad through. I started with yellow, then orange and finish with red. You shouldn't press too much, otherwise there will be color on the parts we don't want color. This part is still very hard for me.
Then I put paper on and secure it with washi tape. And then I use sandwich for embossing in my Sizzix. When I took it out I get few lines where I don't want them, so I decided to shade it with same colors, yellow, orange and red. Love how it turned out.
I love this Mandala, I was just watching it for some time... Crazy I know, but sometimes I just fall in love with some things. Then I put sentiment on it. I decided that I will heat emboss it on vellum. I used sentiment from the Happy Dreams stamp set and use rose gold powder. Punched the corners and glue it in the center of the card. In the end I add some gems in yellow and blue color which make perfect contrast.
Then I wanted to do my third card the way lady made it in video. To cut out mandala and velum and emboss with it. This is why on mandala is still some vellum, I noticed after taking photos. But my Sizzix stopped in the middle of mandala... then I manage to get it out, use lighter paper and try again and stop again...and now does not want to start again. It is electric, I still have hope that it will start working :)
So this all from me for today. Thank you for stopping by and see you nest time,
I love your second card!! So cool!
