What does inspire you in life? Please don't say that nothing and nobody inspires you in life. There can be inspirations for every aspect of life. If I look my crafting, wow, now I really see I can get inspiration from everywhere I just need to keep my eyes open.
I took Altenew's class Mission: Inspiration in my Altenew educator certification program. I absolutely love this class. Sometimes I have total luck of inspiration and things just not going... But with this what I learned, I think that will never ever be without inspiration. I admit that till now mostly searching inspiration on Pinterest, but never create totally same card. I was even taking time and sit down and look at cards on it and making sketches and play how can I change them. But now, now I know how to be inspired by every single thing. I have to say thank you!
As I said, sometimes I make sketches for cards. I made them also for all the classes I took in my Altenew educator certification program. But these sketches are more details, and I also write down what paper, stamp, die...and so on will use. And my drawing is not good, they are very funny. I don't spend time on drawing pretty when I am making them. Because of that I made one on the computer.
This is my sketch for which I get inspiration in one of the card at the class and at the one of Altenew's Create and Inspire magazines, you can find them here. I didn't make both cards totally like the sketch.
They both are wedding cards, actually second one can be used also like anniversary or Valentine's Day card. I love the fact that card can be used for more than one occasion.
First I took watercolor paper and cut out rectangular with nice border. Then I heat embossed flowers with gold powder. I am not excellent at watercolor coloring, but I think that it turned out good any way. Sometimes you just have to do it and practice. When it is heat embossed it is a little easier to color it. I took stamp from Celebrate today stamp set, it is gorgeous and it is collaboration between Altenew and Pinkfresh. For coloring, I use Ballet Slippers set of inks. For something blue I use Iceberg tone from Lapis Lazuli set, both are from Altenew. When it was drying out I embossed sentiment on strip of the same color as it is background. I use gold powder to emboss it, sentiment is from Ori Kami stamp set. I love font of congratulations word, it makes so nice touch. So in the lesson is also used the washi tape, this was such a good idea for me. I have them a bunch and rarely use them. First I put washi tape on the left line of the card base. Then I glue stripe through the flowers and glue that paper on the card base with foam tape. And the card was finished.
For the second card I used Forever and Always stamp set from Altenew, also sentiment is from this set.
I love roses, that you probably know by now, right? :) Yes, I love them. And also If I write the list of things that goes with wedding there would be on the list for sure.
For the second card I didn't use washi tape. Something blue I use for a little border. The way I made if almost the same as for the first one. First I heat embossed in gold flowers and then I colored them. For both I use green tones from Green Meadows ink set. When it was drying I prepare the sentiment.
I used vellum this time and heat embossed sentiment on it. Stripe looks like wavy on the photo, but in reality is not that was. Maybe I should glue it in the middle a little bit. I put the stripe through the flowers and glue it down on the back. Then I put foam tape and glue it on the blue paper which is slightly bigger than the one with flowers. Then I glue all on the card base.
I was debating with myself put some Nuvo drops on it or not. Then I was debating which color, gold, white, or blue... I decided not to do it... What do you think? Which color would you use if you would?
Do you like those cards? Do you know someone who should get married and cannot because of the virus situation? You can surprise them and send them card anyway, there is a million reason to celebrate love.
Thank you for stopping and see you next time,
Very pretty cards, Roteja! I love the first one the most, it does look very wedding card like, sorta romantic!
